Camino Update Day #2 No pressing grammatical questions in the night, but plenty of wind whipping at the roof of this old albergue. We pulled the kids out of bed, dressed them, and got them out the door about 8:30. We had picked up the jogging stroller last night and pushing was easy and enjoyable. The path lead us through field and forest, so much easier than yesterday…lulling us into a false sense of security. Before long we hit mud, stream crossings, and hill climbs. We had some help with loose bolts on the stroller at the first bar we stopped at, and some energy help with the cafe con leche and tortilla de patata. Kids were slowing down so we put the audiobooks on and that kept them moving. We met up with a variety of other pilgrims. Some from Minneapolis, others New Hampshire. Many other languages. The final two hours were pretty rough. Large descents with rows of jagged rocks. The stroller bounced around and got stuck. Had to have help carrying it over large crevices. Finally made it into Zubiri around 4:00 and into our albergue. We got lunch/dinner, and then back for showering the kids. Had to find the pharmacy for lingering stomach issues. Tomorrow we walk into Pamplona. Thankfully not in time for the running of the bulls! Step count: 32,885 Liters of water consumed: a lot Percentage Completed: 5.9
